MANILA, Philippines - Hair stylists from all over the country get a chance to test each other’s skills with the staging of the David’s Salon Hair Olympics originally set on March 17 but has been moved to March 10 instead, at the PICC Forum with close to 150 competitors expected to participate in the four categories of the competition. Now on its 11th year, the event is the country’s biggest gathering of senior hair stylists from different David’s Salons branches all over the country. Events on tap are Evening Style for the more formal occasions, sponsored by Lorea’l Phils., Ladies Commercial, showcasing wearable female hair styles and backed by Matrix, its male counterpart category, the Men’s Commercial with Schwarzkopf as sponsor, and the Wella-sponsored Cut and Blow Dry competition for junior stylists, while international hair stylist Laura Charlton will have a special presentation supported by Davines. Cash and other prizes in kind, not to mention bragging rights, await the winner of the different categories. “We believe this competition has helped upgrade the level of the country’s hair stylists as they come up with their best styles during this Hair Olympics and David’s Salon will continue to hold this annual competition for this purpose, we also expect to surpass last year’s number of participants this year,” said David Charlton.
