MANILA, Philippines - The Social Security System (SSS) is upbeat on the partnership it recently forged with Bayad Center that would make it more convenient for individual and corporate members in remitting their contributions or paying their loans.
With its close to 1,000 community-based outlets that offer easy and no-frills multiple bills collection services, Bayad Center will also start accepting SSS-related remittances of corporations starting in the first quarter of 2010.
Marissu G. Bugante, SSS vice president for public affairs, said the partnership between SSS and Bayad Center is certainly a welcome development not only for their agency but also for their corporate and individual members, including the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“This is good news for our OFWs since they can pay their SSS payments from abroad. This means they do not need to worry about sending their money to their families for remittances to the SSS,” Bugante emphasized.
Making the partnership doubly meaningful, she said, is the fact that every SSS payment made to Bayad Center also means investing in the future of children who are beneficiaries of UNICEF or World Vision support through Bayad Center’s “Bayad Mo, Buhay Ko” program.
“We’re quite happy with our relationship with Bayad Center. Their payment centers are located in communities conveniently accessible to people who need not dress up just to pay or remit their SSS contribution,” she explained.
Established in 1997, Bayad Center became the first non-bank collection partner of the Social Security System (SSS) since 2006.
“With Bayad Center on board, self-employed members and representatives of private employers are now assured of a safer, more reliable, convenient and hassle-free transactions for their SSS contribution remittances and loan payments (salary, calamity, real estate),” Bugante added.
