MANILA, Philippines - Small and medium entrepreneurs from several regions in the country are regular trade fair exhibitors at the Greenhills Shopping Complex in San Juan City. Henry G. Babiera, a top art and antique dealer in Southeast Asia, says small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines account to more than 60 percent of the entire labor force and fuel most of the economic activities. He says SMEs represent “real economic might” and should therefore be given the importance and support they lack in the Philippines. Babiera says the 10-point “pro-poor of the government would benefit the small and medium entrepreneurs. The government is all out of SMEs because SME is the key to our progress and economic stability.” Small and medium entrepreneurs are exhibitors in the 17th Fiesta Fair Manila to be held from Jan. 8 to 31. Prime Asia Trade Planners & Convention Organizers (PATEPCO), for more than 20 years active in organizing trade fairs and exhibits, is the organizer of the 24-day trade fair.
