MANILA, Philippines - The Social Security System (SSS) is upbeat on the partnership that it recently forged with Bayad Center, saying this would provide more convenience to the agency’s corporate and individual members in the payments of their contribution remittances and loan payments wherever they may be.
Bayad Center, with its close to 1,000 community-based outlets that offer multiple bills collection services, will also start accepting SSS-related remittances of corporations beginning in the first quarter of 2010.
Marissu G. Bugante, SSS vice president for public affairs, said the partnership between SSS and Bayad Center is a welcome development not only for the agency but also for the corporate and individual members, including overseas Filipino workers.
“This is good news for our OFWs since they can pay their SSS payments from abroad. This means they do not need to worry about sending their money to their families in paying their remittances to the SSS,” Bugante said.
Making the partnership doubly meaningful is the fact that every SSS payment made to Bayad Center also means donating to children‘s future through Bayad Center’s “Bayad Mo, Buhay Ko” where an amount goes to this program’s beneficiaries – UNICEF or World Vision, Bugante said.
“We’re quite happy with out relationship with Bayad Center. Their payment centers are located in communities, in places that are closer to the people so they don’t have to dress up when paying their contributions,” she explained.
Bayad Center became the first non-bank collection partner of the SSS since 2006 to serve a client base of voluntary paying members composed mostly of street and market vendors, household helpers and contractual employees.
