PLDT service restored to 91% of affected landlines
MANILA, Philippines - PLDT announced yesterday that about 91 percent of telephones affected by Typhoon “Ondoy” have been restored.
“We are rushing the restoration of service in the remaining nine but our efforts are hampered by flood waters and/or lack of commercial power in the areas of Marikina, Cainta, Taytay, Angono, Antipolo, Binangonan, Morong and Pasig,” Ramon R. Isberto, PLDT spokesperson, said.
“Alongside our efforts to normalize service in these areas as soon as possible, we have taken special measures to assist our subscribers in affected communities like setting up Libreng Tawag centers where customers could call their relatives and loved ones for free,” he added.
Isberto said PLDT is now offering the PLDT Call All, a wireless landline service, to provide immediate service to affected subscribers. All PLDT residential customers in Metro Manila may apply for this Call All service at any PLDT business office.
