Metrobank, Security Bank branches open to serve public

MANILA, Philippines - Two of the country’s biggest commercial banks announced yesterday that they are open to serve the public including those in typhoon affected areas.

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. said in a statement that 99 percent of its branches in affected areas of tropical storm Ondoy, are already open. Except for San Roque, Barangka, Calumpang-Marikina, Cainta and Farmers Plaza, all branches are now fully operational, Metrobank said.

The Metrobank statement said it appreciates the public’s understanding of any inconvenience caused by the typhoon. “The bank assures its depositors and clients that it is exerting all efforts to restore the remaining affected branches as soon as possible. For any concerns, clients are advised to call Customer Care at 860-3000 or write to customercare@-metrobank.com.ph.

Security Bank Corp. (SBC) also issued an announcement saying it has resumed normal banking operations and ATM services in all their branches in Metro Manila except for San Juan branch.

Until further notice, depositors and account holders of the San Juan branch are advised to proceed to Greenhills branch located at the Greenhills Mansion, 37 Annapolis Street or call (02) 721-1353 and 721-1463, the SBC statement said.
