Ford exports 500 units of Focus to Indonesia

- Ma. Elisa Osorio  -

MANILA, Philippines - Ford Motor Company Philippines (FMCP) announced that it has completed its largest fleet sales order to Indonesia as it exported over 500 units of locally made Ford Focus.

In a statement, FMCP president Rick Baker said that they sold 577 units of Ford Focus to the Indonesian National Police Force. Likewise, the Indonesian police purchased 591 Ford Rangers produced in AutoAlliance Thailand to complete the fleet order.

Exports account for roughly half of Ford’s total production volume. As of end of August, cumulative exports hit 62,500 units of Ford and Mazda vehicles worth $800 million.

“We are delighted with the progress of our CBU export program in light of this year’s more challenging environment,” Baker said. “Ford Philippines is the only domestic manufacturer with a CBU export program, and we remain committed to deliver high quality vehicles to our neighboring ASEAN markets,” he added.

As the first and only volume exporter of CBU vehicles in the Philippines, the 577 Ford Focus units purchased are proudly manufactured in FMCP’s Santa Rosa, Laguna plant — an indication of quality and a strong vote of confidence in Ford products produced by a world-class Filipino workforce.

“This fleet-purchase to Indonesia is significant for FMCP as it points to the success of our export business and underscores the exceptional quality of the vehicles we produce in the Philippines. It is also a testament to the world-class craftsmanship and dedication of Ford’s Filipino workforce which enabled these vehicles to earn such successes,” Baker said.
