Developers pave way to national recovery

MANILA, Philippines - In light of the improvement of the global economy, this year’s national convention of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), the largest and most organization of real estate developers, on Sept. 17 and 18 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City will focus on “Housing, Leading The Way Towards National Recovery”.

High-ranking government officials, financial executives and real estate development companies are expected to attend the two-day convention which will be marked by a series of talks on key economic trends that will affect the housing industry over the next several years.

Highlights of the convention include talks on “The National Stimulus Package for Housing” by Vice-President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chairman Noli De Castro, “The Economic Forecast and Outlook for 2010; The Housing Industry and the Philippine Economy” by NEDA Director General OIC Augusto Santos, “New Alternative Sources for Housing” by representatives of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and Allied Bank, “The Home Guaranty Corp.’s (HGC) new Guaranty Program” by HGC president Gonzalo Bongolan and “Updates on the Housing Industry Regulations and Developers Accreditation” by Commissioner Romulo Fabul of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB).
