PowerTech to create networking venue for international energy execs

MANILA, Philippines - Government and private sector delegates from 25 countries attending the UNIDO ministerial conference on green energy and energy efficiency to be held in the Philippines next month have been invited to attend corporate presentations, share insights and start networking with C-level executives in the Philipine energy industry at the PowerTech Business Forum.

The forum, to be held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila on Sept. 9 – 10, 2009, features 26 resource speakers  who will discuss topics affecting Philippine investments and access to the Philippine energy markets, and evaluating market opportunities and risks and renewable energy projects.

Presentations range from policy, regulatory issues and incentives; renewable and clean energy projects; energy efficiency and management; and financing of energy and energy-related projects in the Philippines.

The forum is part of PowerTrends 2009, the international energy exhibition in the Philippines organized to serve as the trade exhibit for the UNIDO ministerial conference. Focus of the gathering is the promotion of alternative and renewable energy projects to meet climate change.

The Philippines is host to the Ministerial Conference.on Green Industry in Asia: Managing the Transition to Resource-Efficient and Low Carbon Industries. The event is a joint meeting put together by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) on Sept. 9 to 11, 2009.

The Powertech Business Forum will also create networking opportunities and private meetings among UN senior government officials, representatives from industrial chambers and associations, key officials and technical personnel of energy and energy-related industries, businessmen, entrepreneurs, academia and research institutes, international/regional organizations.

Parallel technical sessions are also being organized within the PowerTrends exhibition in coordination with major exhibitors and technical experts, such sessions to be attended by technical personnel from the industry, government and academe.

SVP Roberto Almazora, Philsurin Chairman Bernard Trebol, managing partner and founder of Palafox Associates Felino A. Palafox, chief technical officer of Seedlinks Philippines Inc. Mila Jude,  Amado P. de Jesus, former chair of the ASEAN energy awards committee, PNOC-EDC corplan head Raymond Quiroz.

Keynote speaker for the forum is Energy Secretary Angelo T. Reyes.
