Isuzu N-Series tops light-duty truck segment

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Isuzu N-Series trucks continue to dominate the light-duty truck segment, with sales of 57 units in the month of June, accounting for 49.1 percent of Category 3, or the class of light-duty commercial trucks. This figure brings the N-Series’ year-to-date sales total to 442 units, representing a commanding 57.3 percent of the market.

The Isuzu N-Series is a versatile line of light-duty truck that has many applications. Its many configurations include the passenger van, the aluminum van, the refrigerated van, the fire truck, the drop-side truck; the aerial platform truck, the refuse collector, the dump truck, the cargo truck and the tanker.

The N-Series has four main variants: the NHR55E, the NKR66E, the NPR66P and the NQR71R. The NHR is powered by a 2.8-liter, 80-PS four-cylinder diesel engine. The NKR and the NPR both have a 4.3-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with maximum outputs of 103 PS and 120 PS, respectively. The NQR boasts the biggest powerplant of all, a 4.6-liter, 130PS four-cylinder diesel engine.

“If a vehicle becomes a bestseller for a month or even a year, it could simply be a stroke of luck,” said Isuzu Philippines Corp. president Keiji Takeda. “But if a vehicle is the bestseller in a competitive class for a dozen straight years, that is concrete proof of its superiority over its rivals. It means the market has full confidence in it as a result of a very satisfying experience with it,” he added.
