MANILA, Philippines - The best informational and marketing campaigns were lauded at the recently held 3rd Tambuli Awards, the leading awards for Integrated Marketing Communications Effectiveness in the Philippines and the Asian region. For its campaign initiatives for overseas Filipinos, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) received three awards.
The BPInoy Learning Program won silver in two categories: Most Effective Family-Oriented Brand Campaign and Best Innovative and Integrated Media Campaign while the Search for Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children won silver in the Most Effective Teens Brand Campaign.
Taken from the tambuli, an instrument used by early Filipino dwellers for widespread communication, the Tambuli Awards is the only award in the country that bi-annually recognizes organizations and institutions such as BPI that delivers positive results through their integrated marketing communications campaigns.
BPI considers the Tambuli Awards as a tribute to the bank’s commitment to support overseas Filipinos even beyond remittance and banking. Teresita B. Tan, head of Overseas Banking and Channels Services Group of BPI, says, “This award will be an icon for our team to continuously rally behind our work and our clients.”
The BPInoy Learning Program is a sustained initiative to address the special needs of overseas Filipinos. The series gathers overseas Filipinos and their families to a day of fun and learning through interactive BPInoy Learning modules which teaches financial literacy, a short film on the life of an overseas Filipino, titled Bayani, and a theme song and video, Abutin Mo Ang Iyong Pangarap. Regularly held in various cities all over the Philippines, the BPInoy Learning Program elevates the overseas Filipino – providing tools and information they need to take charge of their future.
The Search for Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children, the other award-winning campaign, honors exceptional and talented children of overseas Filipinos. It is an annual campaign set to promote the value of education, culture of excellence and nationalistic pride among children of overseas Filipinos or expat Pinoys, as BPI calls them.
