MANILA, Philippines – As the summer season eases students into a break from all things academic, Ayala Land Premier (ALP) offers high-ranking students from the country’s top universities the opportunity to jumpstart their future. The Ayala Land Premier Summer Internship Program is an intensive five-week course, giving graduating college students a myriad of opportunities to immerse themselves in the unique business environment.
This year, 19 students from the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Asia and the Pacific and Assumption College come together to learn about Ayala Land Premier’s exceptional project development process and sales and marketing practices of ALP’s properties such as Serendra, Montecito, Ayala Greenfield, Anvaya, and Abrio. At the end of the program, they are required to defend a thesis at the end of the five weeks.
“They come from different schools and different backgrounds, but they have formed a bond and that is very delightful to see” remarks Arlene Hatcha, project sales operations executive for Ayala Land Premier. “These kids have provided us with invaluable support in terms of manpower and have also come up with great and sometimes crazy ideas that will hopefully be useful to our business. I’m definitely looking forward to see what they will be presenting to our management team because I know they have put all their heart into it. Seeing this bright, wide-eyed, enthusiastic bunch of students definitely brightens the halls of Ayala Land Premier day in and day out.”
Aside from the lectures trainees receive within the office, they are given on-site experience as well, touring Ayala Land Premier’s developments each week and being required to defend a thesis at the end of the five weeks. Students are exposed not just to business practices but also to other facets covered by ALP such as residential building development, Leisure properties, and Land and Houses. The hands-on experiences have certainly impressed these budding business professionals, as they see firsthand what it takes to deliver the high quality developments covered by ALP.
As the students continue to broaden their horizons at the summer internship program, they’ve begun to accumulate a plethora of valuable lessons they will take back with them to school — and into their future careers as well.
