YSA Skin Care bares international expansion plans

MANILA, Philippines - YSA Skin Care Corp. is vigorously pursuing its international expansion binge and has started negotiating with prospective franchise partners in four different countries.

Russel C. Arida, YSA Skin Care assistant general manager, said they are targeting to put up at least one clinic each in China, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates and Japan.

He said among those that they are now having negotiations with are Arab businessmen, who came to know about YSA through their Filipino associates in the Middle East.

“There are Arab businessmen in Kuwait and in Abu Dhabi who are very interested in having their franchised YSA Skin Care clinics,” Arida emphasized.

YSA is credited for starting the boom period in the skin care clinic industry as it has been in the business for the last 20 years.

The company is also into the manufacturing and distribution of derma products, including the YSA Botanica and GlutaMAX lines. It maintains a state-of-the-art production facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Cautiously concerned about the quality of its services and treatments its clinics offer, YSA has decided to open its business for franchising only this year.

The company has now opened two franchised outlets, one in Mindanao Ave. and the other in Mira Nila Homes in Pasong Tamo, Quezon City.

Book publisher Dante E. Llarena recently inaugurated his Mira Nila branch with an investment of P4.7 million. His franchised clinic, which can accommodate up to 20 clients at a time, is surrounded by 15 subdivisions, making him confident that he will be able to recoup his investment in less than two years.

Arida said including the four outlets abroad, YSA Skin Care is looking at establishing at least eight franchised outlets this year. Negotiations with their prospective foreign partners, meanwhile, could be finalized in the next few months.
