Sitel plans 2 more contact centers in RP
MANILA, Philippines – Sitel Philippines, a leading business solutions provider, is opening two more contact center facilities in the country, which are expected to create empoyment opportunities for 1,000 Filipinos.
In a press briefing at the opening of Sitel's newest site in Metro Manila at One Julia Vargas (OJV), Pasig City, Sitel chief operating officer for the Asia Pacific Region Steve Barker said that they are in the middle of constructing their third facility in Baguio City.
The opening ceremony, where President Arroyo cut the ribbon and unveiled the site brass market, was attended by US Sitel executives, Pasig City government officials, and Trade and Industry officers.
Sitel now employs over 11,000 in the Philippines. The OJV is Sitel's biggest site in Manila which has the capacity of more than 2,000 seats. It brings the total number of Sitel's sites to six –four in Metro Manila and two in Baguio City.
Sitel provides world-class offshore solutions such as customer service and techinical support, inbound and outbound, technical help desk and back office processing to clients engaged in technology, travel, telecommunications, media, retail, insurance and financial services.
Over 75 percent of Sitel’s clients are from North America. The rest are from the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
The President said Sitel has significantly contributed to the growth of the local business process outsourcing (BPO) industry through jobs and revenues. She said Sitel, like all BPO companies, has been working hard to increase economic activities and provide more jobs to Filipinos.
For generating the most number of jobs, Sitel has received the 2008 Outstanding Employer Award from the Philippine Export Processing Zone (PEZA). The company was one of the six recipients of the award in the large enterprise category.
Sitel, a PEZA locator, has also been cited for giving high regard for the welfare of its employees and maintaining harmony between labor and management.
