DENR, WEAP set course for pollution control officers

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) (NCR) and the Water Environment Association of the Philippines (WEAP) Inc. will conduct a “Basic Training Course for New Pollution Control Officers (PCO)” on May 12-15 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Ave., Quezon City.

The four-day seminar will orient prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and their corresponding rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs and PCO duties and responsibilities.

EMB director Roberto Sheen will spearhead the training to enable industries to improve their environmental management, pollution prevention and cleaner production programs.
