24-day tiangge at Greenhills
MANILA, Philippines - The 16th Telecommunication & Accessories & Bazaar will be held back to back with 5th Philippine Crafts from June 13 to July 7 at the Greenhills Shopping Complex. The 24-day show is a project of Prime Asia Trade Planners & Convention Organizers (PATEPCO), a top trade fair and consumer exhibit organizer. Henry G. Babiera, president and considered tiangge king, offers some tips on how one can get best deal for hard-earned money.
For budget-conscious shoppers the best place to shop is flea market or tiangge. Shoppers can get much lower prices of goods and services in tiangges especially if they know how to haggle prices. First, Babiera says you must have a complete list of all the items you plan to buy and stick to that list. The purpose of the list is to prevent you from impulse buying. Then check how much cash or credit you can spend. Then when shopping go around and compare prices. For example when shopping at the Fiesta Fair, go from the booth to another. Check the merchandise. See if it is okay. Check for rips, tears, dirt or smears. Ask the price.
Then the price you want. If the seller is reluctant, give a higher price. If the seller is still reluctant, pretend to leave or transfer to another booth.
