Western Union opens 150 new agent locations across RP
MANILA, Philippines - The Western Union Co. a worldwide leader in money transfer services, announced yesterday the opening of 150 new agent locations across the Philippines, including 50 flagship outlets in key urban areas.
“With increasing economic uncertainty, more and more customers are looking to companies they trust when remitting their hard-earned money. Western Union has the largest network in the country, and our agents will continue to open more new locations this year,” said Patricia Riingen, Western Union’s regional vice president, Philippines and Indochina.
“In these difficult times, customers are choosing Western Union® because of our stability and reliability as much as for speed and convenience,” Riingen added. “Western Union has a history of 150 years, a strong financial position and brand leadership in our industry, as well as consistently high-quality international service delivery standards.”
Riingen said, “Our customers can rest easy with Western Union, trusting that we can deliver on our promise: Kampante sila sa Western Union.”
Among the openings are 50 new flagship locations located in urban areas with high customer traffic. With more counters and frontline associates at these flagship locations providing the Western Union® Money TransferSM service, these outlets are even more spacious and comfortable with shorter waiting times. In Metro Manila, new flagship locations have opened in Manila, Quezon City, Quiapo, Taguig, Caloocan, and San Juan.
New outlets have also been inaugurated in Ilocos Sur, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Cavite and Batangas in Luzon, Cebu, Samar, Leyte and Marinduque in Visayas and Davao, South Cotabato, Zamboanga, and Surigao in Mindanao, among others.
Western Union has over 6,300 agent locations throughout the Philippines and over 334,000 locations in over 200 countries and territories worldwide (network data as of December 2008).
“Our unmatched network means that a Western Union agent is never too far away,” Riingen said. “Whether you’re transferring money from Singapore to Cebu or from Makati to Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, having a Western Union location nearby means saving money in transportation costs and taking less time away from work and family.”
