2-day seminar on financial reporting
The Center for Global Best Practices will hold a two-day seminar on “Best practices In compliance with financial reporting standards” on Feb. 12 and 13 at the Peninsula Manila, Makati City. New regulations require all companies to align their financial reporting system with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This shift has made a lot of accounting practices obsolete, and the implementation of this new global accounting standard is confusing to many businesses and accounting practitioners. To avoid costly mistakes and penalties from the regulatory bodies, businesses, accounting practitioners, and CFOs must educate themselves in its proper application and get it right. The program will include accounting updates and lots of sample cases to illustrate alignment of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) with the required International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This program will feature tax expert Rosario S. Bernaldo, CPA-lawyer, founder and managing partner of law and accounting firms Bernaldo, Mirador Law Offices and R.S. Bernaldo & Associates, which comprise more than 120 accountants and lawyers. She co-authored “A Primer on the National Internal Revenue Code.” Her career path includes having been the lone tax partner of Punongbayan & Araullo. Her professional affiliations include having been co-founder and chairman of the ASEAN Accounting Firms (ASNAF). She graduated summa cum laude with an accounting degree from the University of the East, was valedictorian and cum laude from the UE College of Law, and ranked first upon obtaining her MBA from University of the Philippines. She was also a CPA topnotcher. For details and a complete list of seminars, you may log on to www.cgbp.org, email jessica@cgbp.org, or call (02) 842-7148 or 59.
