Zest Air to fly 4 new planes out of Clark
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — Officials of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) welcomed yesterday four new aircraft that Zest Air will use for its new international and domestic flights at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) here.
CIAC president and chief executive officer Victor Jose Luciano, executive vice president Alexander Cauguiran, vice president for operations and DMIA general manager Bienvenido Manga were with Zest Air president and chief executive officer Alfredo Yao in the fly-in of the aircraft at the Asian Aerospace Hangar at this freeport’s 2,500 -hectare civil aviation complex.
“The new flights of Zest Air are another major development for DMIA to realize President Arroyo’s vision of making the DMIA the country’s premier international airport,” Luciano said.
“We support Zest Air for them to be able to mount domestic and international flights out of DMIA,” he added.
The new aircraft include three M-60 airplanes with a seating capacity of 56 and one Airbus A320 with a capacity of 162.
Yao said they will be mounting domestic flights to Cebu and Davao from Manila starting Dec. 20 amid plans to also mount regional international flights to serve the Asian region.
Yao said another Airbus A320 aircraft is set to arrive Jan. 3 and two more are expected in the middle of next yea to beef up their Asian flights.
He said new flights will start Dec. 20, including four flights per day between Manila, Cebu and Davao as they await the arrival of the other Airbus A320 next year for their regional Asian flights. – Ding Cervantes
