PRC taps TIM Corp for new professional ID system

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has tapped the services of TIM Corp. in the development of a P20-million system for the more efficient production of professional identification cards.

The PRC recently launched “Fast ID,” a new service that allows registered professionals to secure their professional identification cards after just an hour.

“PRC is always looking for ways to improve our service to the public.  A year ago, we launched a service that allowed professionals to get their IDs within the day,” said PRC chairperson Leonor Rosero.

For his part, Jose Mari Antunez, president and CEO of TIM, said their company shares PRC’s mission to deliver excellent services to the country’s professionals.

“Through proven IT solutions and processes, we know we will meet our goals,” he said.

Fast ID is in response to public clamor for faster releasing of professional IDs. With hundreds of professionals trooping to the PRC daily, turnaround-time for ID production has been a cause for concern.

Officials explained that Fast ID also eases professional ID renewal. With the new Fast ID system, professionals can simply come to PRC before they go to work and can expect to get their new IDs within a couple of hours.

“We have an ongoing project to have professionals renew their licenses. One of the concerns our professionals have raised about license renewal is the waiting time for their professional ID.  Launching Fast ID is a testament that PRC listens to the needs of the Filipino Professional,” said PRC commissioner Nilo Rosas.

For her part, PRC commissioner Ruth Padilla noted: “We encounter a lot of professional OFWs, specifically from the Middle East who come home to the Philippines only to renew their licenses and then fly back to the Middle East. With this new Fast ID, they get to spend more time with their loved ones, instead of queuing at PRC.”

PRC has dedicated an exclusive booth for FAST ID, where for an extra fee of P200 on top of the regular licensing fee, professionals can get their new IDs after an hour.

TIM Corp. is a 100 percent Filipino-owned IT company established in 1985. It provides hardware, software, maintenance, business recovery, system integration and outsourcing services to some of the country’s largest enterprises.
