BayanTel has widest coverage at lowest cost – survey
A recent consumer survey has revealed that the wireless landline service of Lopez-owned Bayan Telecommunications has the widest coverage at the lowest costs among players in the local wireless landline industry.
The same survey showed that Bayan Wireless Landline also has additional service features which subscribers found to be useful especially in a time of economic crisis.
The poll, conducted by the consumer research group of the Institute of Transformative Marketing Communications (ITMC), revealed that six out of 10 Filipino subscribers prefer Bayan Wireless Landline over other existing wireless landline plans in the market.
The survey, which was conducted over a period between March 23 to April 23, 2008, showed that 60 percent of the 1,200 respondents in Metro Manila, favor using a Bayan Wireless Landline phone than other brands in the market.
Respondents note that Bayan Wireless Landline offers P599 in its regional areas or P699 per month in Metro Manila with unlimited calls and free P100 consumable calls, compared to PLDT Landline Plus’ P600 a month and Globe Landline Wireless’ P599 a month which only gives 500 free texts.
Bayan Wireless Landline also has the lowest NDD rates, 50 cents lower than PLDT Landline Plus and Globe. BWL to cellphone rates is P6 lower than Globe’s Landline offering. For poll respondents, this is quite critical especially the cost-conscious subscribers affected by high prices of goods and inflation, the survey said.
Respondents also note the valuable service features of the BWL: caller ID, phonebook, call forwarding, three-way calling, speed dialing, security PIN, ring tunes, loudspeakers and call waiting — features that they find appealing and unique only to Bayan Wireless Landline.
John Rojo, Bayan vice president for corporate brand and communications, said the reaction that they have been receiving from the public has been tremendous since they rolled out the service just a year ago.
Rojo said that Bayan is working doubly hard right now to further improve and give innovative services to Filipino consumers.
Today, Bayan is the third largest telecommunications company, with over 160,000 wireless landline subscribers.
