A British firm engaged in business process outsourcing (BPO) opened yesterday its Manila office with a $1.5-million investment.
The Manila office of Strategic Back-Office Solutions (SBOS) was formally opened by British Ambassador to the Philippines Peter Beckingham.
SBOS is a subsidiary of UK-based Strategic Systems Solutions. The firm provides IT and complementary BPO services to some of the world’s largest banks and financial institutions.
“SBOS has chosen the Philippines as one of its far-shore locations because of the many advantages the Philippines has to offer the company and its clients,” Beckingham said.
Beckingham said investors from the UK have taken consideration of what the Philippines has to offer and are now seeing the “tremendous potential of the country.”
“In 2007 alone, British companies have poured in the largest amount of direct investments into the country, valued at $446.5 million and almost triple that of the closest contender,” he said.
