TIM inks P55-M contract with GSIS

Filipino firm Total Information Management Corp. (TIM) recently signed a P55- million contract with the Government Insurance Service System (GSIS), its third government contract signed this year.

TIM president and CEO Jose Mari Antunez said the contract involves setting up the agency’s computerized documentation and archiving system.

Antunez expects the contract with GSIS to further increase the company revenues, which has grown to P700 million for the first nine months, an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

“The confidence of GSIS in our integrated systems solutions shows that we have a proven track record in the global IT services industry,” Antunez said.

GSIS saw the need to invest in an IT infrastructure that would enable the agency to effectively and efficently deliver social security benefits for government employees, specifically, compulsory life insurance, optional life insurance, retirement benefits, disability benefits for work-related contingencies and death benefits.

TIM also bagged a P32-million deal with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for its information security infrastructure (ISI) and office systems automation (OSA) projects. It was also awarded a P45-million contract to design, develop, establish, and host the National Computer Center’s (NCC) “E-Government Services Portal.”

TIM is optimistic that revenues will hit P1 billion this year, up 43 percent from around P700 million last year due to the entry of new contracts for its business recovery service (BRS) and other IT solutions and services.

Antunez said TIM’s biggest clients are banks, insurance and manufacturing firms for BRS, which provide recovery systems for mainframes and mid-range servers to assure continuity of their operations in case of unplanned events that render their own data centers inoperable.

TIM has two BRS sites called business recovery center in the country, specifically in Makati and Alabang. The BRC has two main components, the computer center and the customer work area.

Antunez said TIM will open this month another BRC in Cebu, built at a cost of P40 million, to serve the needs of its growing clientele.
