Greenfield allots P1B for Laguna township project

- Zinnia B. Dela Peña -

Greenfield Development Corp., the property firm of the Campos family, has earmarked around P1 billion for the construction of two office buildings, new commercial centers and an upscale residential subdivision within its 300-hectare township in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Greenfield chairman Jeffrey Campos said the new developments at Greenfield City is in line with the company’s goal of building a self-contained, viable community.

About P240 million has been set aside for the development of two buildings which will provide 6,000 square meters of office space for the growing business process outsourcing industry.

The two IT buildings will rise within Greenfield City’s Sta. Rosa Business Park, which is envisioned to be the primary office and commercial zone of the area.

To complement the office component, Greenfield is expanding the commercial area to facilitate the entry of more shops including a SM Supermarket.

The expansion would provide an additional 33 hectares to the current Paseo De Sta. Rosa commercial center which covers an area of 12 hectares.

To be called Laguna Central, the new commercial wing is estimated to cost P200 million and is expected to serve the ever-growing needs of the community’s residents.

Plans are also underway for the establishment of a transportation terminal which is estimated to cost about P100 million.

Company officials said the group is likewise in the process of developing phases 2 and 3 of the Pramana residential subdivision.  The first phase, covering 25 hectares, has already been completed.

The new phases will cover an area of around 55 hectares.

Other components of Greenfield City are the Greenfield Auto Park, which is home of Ford Motors in the Philippines, and the Medical Center.

The Greenfield Automall is a five-hectare integrated automotive retail and commercial establishment dedicated to car dealership, car accessories, and auto  parts shop, driving the commercial viability of the area. It is envisioned as the new destination for car owners  and enthusiasts.

Southern Luzon Hospital and Medical Center, which opened recently, provides modern and state-of-the-art but affordable medical services to residents in the South.

Greenfield which started in 1972, has joint venture projects with Ayala Land Inc., Jardine Land Inc., The Fil Estate Group and Laguna Property Holdings Inc.

Among its notable projects include the Edsa Central Shopping Complex, MRT 3 Light Rail Station, ABI-Greenfield Interchange, Ayala Greenfield Estates and the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club.

For its initial project, Greenfield constructed a two-story commercial building located along Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, which was to become the base of Greenfield Group of Companies for the next 30 years.
