RP is venue of 2 int’l forums
The conferences are the 4th Executive Forum on Natural Resources Management: Natural Resources Knowledge Management in Southeast Asia and the 3rd International Conference on Agriculture Education and Environment.
The forum on NRM will be held on Nov. 7-9 at the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEAMEO SEARCA) in Los Baños, Laguna.
Its objective is “to encourage executives and lead researchers of government agencies, research and development organizations, universities, and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) focused on natural resource management in Southeast Asia to systematize knowledge management (KM) in their respective fields.”
SEARCA, headed by Director Arsenio M. Balisacan, said that at the end of the forum, the participants are expected to identify knowledge management principles and practices applicable to natural resource management and workable in the Southeast Asian region; cite best practices and lessons learned on KM for NRM; and develop an intermediate institutional/project knowledge management plan of action for their respective organizations/institutions/projects.
The 4th International Conference on Agriculture Education and Environment (DA-PCC) in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, under the auspices of the Asia Pacific Association of Educators in Agriculture and Environment (APEAEN).
Organized in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan, APEAEN is a nonstock, nongovernment administrators, policymakers, practitioners, development specialists, and institutions involved in education in agriculture and environment.
Theme of the conference is “Preparing for the Future: Rethinking Higher Agriculture Education and Environment in the Asia Pacific.” — Rudy A. Fernandez
