Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) is spending at least P780 million for the construction of a Filipino-Hispanic inspired township in Calamba, Laguna.
In a statement, FLI said the amount excludes the development cost of individual subdivisions within the 350-hectare township dubbed Ciudad de Calamba.
The entire township project is four kilometers long, with a 32-meter wide, four-lane main thoroughfare that will later be part of the proposed Calamba-Tagaytay highway. It covers four barangays in Calamba City.
“Ciudad de Calamba aims to preserve the natural and relaxed atmosphere of the old Calamba town – its rich history, tradition and lifestyle – but in a more modern setting and with superior utilities and infrastructure,†said FLI president and chief operating officer Joseph M. Yap.
Yap said the company is putting up a new affordable subdivision within the township following the brisk take up of Vista Hills and Punta Altezza.
To be called Aldea Real, the new residential subdivision offers 654 lots with sizes ranging from 70 square meters to 125 square meters and an average lot package of P530,000. It will feature a multi-purpose clubhouse, an open basketball court, parks and playground, a view deck, and jogging paths.
FLI said a town center will form the core of the township project, where a plaza, a church, a market, business centers, a hospital, and a major educational institution will rise. Opening this year on a half-hectare lot is Casa del Niño Montessori School, which will initially offer pre-school and elementary education.
The 20-hectare Asenso Village, a pioneering business park development for cottage industry that FLI launched in 2005, anchors the third phase of the project. Currently, there are 375 housing units available with an average lot cut of 252 square meters and business facilities catering to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs.
FLI, the residential property unit of the Gotianun-owned holding firm Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC), is one of the largest real estate developers in the country, having developed over 1,800 hectares of land into homes for close to 100,000 families as well as 600,000 square meters of office, commercial and high-rise residential space.
