The Baguio City Economic Zone (BCEZ) said the call center will accept worldwide reservations for all Intercon hotels.
Some IHG hotel brands are InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.
The IHG call center is the first call center inside BCEZ’s Camp John Hay.
BCEZ said the call center will enjoy the same benefits given by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
BCEZ said the call center will stay for at least five years, the minimum lease period.
The deal is under negotiation and is expected to be completed in the first week of March.
The one-hectare facility will be located in the old BCEZ building in Camp John Hay. BCEZ said the hotel chain will merely refurbish the existing building.
Last January, global customer care, human resources and billing services Convergys Corp. said it will provide human resources business process outsourcing (HR BPO) to IHG for six years.
In an earlier statement, Chris Paull, vice president of IHG shared services described IHG’s business in the Asia-Pacific as a fast growing industry.
As such, he said there is a need to get a partner that can provide us with a scalable and cost-effective HR solution capable of accommodating the rapid employee growth across this diverse region.
Karen Bowman, president of Convergys’ Employee Care business said that HR BPO service delivery model will ensure that IHG has ready access to information about its workforce, enabling it to improve employee satisfaction and productivity while driving strategic business decisions regarding its human capital.
Convergys designs, implements, and manages HR BPO solutions for all facets of the employment life cycle: recruiting and resourcing, compensation, HR administration, payroll, benefits, performance management, learning and business intelligence.
