SuperFerry offers discounted fares

SuperFerry, the passenger shipping arm of publicly listed Aboitiz Transport System (ATS), has launched a discounted rate promotion to attract more travelers to its major ports nationwide and expand its market reach.

The new promotion entitles passengers to avail as much as 50 percent off the regular rates for major destinations when purchased at least two days before the departure.

Unlike other promotional schemes, the SuperFerry Mega Tipid Trip promises no additional costs and includes all classes for discounts, from the super value class to the staterooms and suites in each vessel.

As an added convenience, interested travelers can just call the SuperFerry hotline (528-7000) to purchase tickets and arrange for free delivery within Metro Manila and in Metro Cebu.

Andrew Deyto, SuperFerry assistant vice president for marketing said: "We recognize that domestic travel is beginning to be competitive with the aggressive pricing schemes of other shipping lines or even the airline operators."

"This promotion is our way of leveraging on the added value of the Super Ferry experience while making our rates more affordable and accessible not only to our natural market of ship travelers but also to those seeking a unique, safe, and pleasurable travel experience," he added.

The program is meant to tap new markets for SuperFerry particularly students and middle class families who are willing to enjoy a longer yet more relaxed mode of traveling.

Deyto also said that while the reduced SuperFerry rates would enhance more price-based competition in the domestic travel industry, he believes this would hopefully spur consumer spending and stimulate economic activity that would largely benefit the local tourism market.

Recently, SuperFerry underwent a re-branding exercise to highlight the refreshed outlook of the business and demonstrate its new and dynamic logo.
