Generating export revenues

I will be away for a couple of weeks for my annual sabbatical leave. My commentaries on issues of the day will resume on the 3rd of June. My television programs on IBC-TV 13, in the meantime, continue with their airings. Please watch them.
An industry the country must not lose
As we strive to attract new investors and industries to do business in the country, we must not overlook the needs of industries already in our shores. One such industry is the semi-conductor and electronics, a major contributor to the country’s export revenues. What is the strategic importance of the semiconductor and electronics industry in the Philippines? What are the industry’s problems? Is the local semiconductor and electronics industry healthy enough to compete against China, and other countries in the region? Are the incentives provided by the economic zones where most of the semi-conductor and electronics companies are located competitive with those offered by other countries?

Join us in "BREAKING BARRIERS" on Wednesday, 25th May 2005, IBC-TV 13 (11 pm) and gain insights into the views of Anthony Michel Petrucci, president, Amkor Technology (Philippines) Inc. on various issues related to the semi-conductor and electronics industry both locally and globally and how Amkor Technology, Philippines, is responding.
