EMB streamlines CNC application

Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Director Julian Amador has issued a memorandum circular providing the non-requirement of barangay and/or local government unit endorsement and locational clearances for certificate of non-coverage (CNC) applications.
Partial listings of economic activities covered by CNC and the checklist of requirements for CNC application were also provided in the circular.
The move of the EMB is consistent with the thrust of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to further streamline and standardize the procedures and requirements of the environmental impact statement system and help the micro, small and medium enterprises.
"We are very pleased with this move of the EMB. As our strong partner in environmental advocacy, we believe this action will promote compliance of the business sector to environmental laws and regulations especially those micro, small and medium enterprises," said Sergio Ortiz-Luis, Jr., president of the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (Philexport).
