Manila Jockey, Century Group team up for Cavite project

Manila Jockey Club Inc. (MJC) has signed a joint venture agreement with Century Communities Corp. for the development of a 17.09-hectare property in Carmona, Cavite into an exclusive residential subdivision.

Century Communities is a member of the Century properties group, whose projects include the Essensa at Fort Bonifacio, the West of Ayala at Makati and the Soho at Shaw Boulevard.

The property lies within MJC’s 77-hectare San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, which is being developed into a mixed-use complex.

MJC plans to develop some 23 hectares of the property into a residential-gated community overlooking the race track.

The park will replace the club’s San Lazaro Hippodrome in Sta. Cruz, Manila. The Carmona horse racing facility is a joint venture between Manila Jockey and KPPI Land Corp. of the Kuok Group.

MJC earlier inked an agreement with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) for the establishment of a casino at the third floor of the Turf Club Building in the Cavite racetrack.

It is also hoping to forge a partnership with Community Innovations Inc., the middle-income housing subsidiary of property giant Ayala Land Inc., for the development of its former racetrack into a residential enclave.
