The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has issued certificates of compliance (COC) to three more independent power producers (IPPs) and four self-generation entities.
The ERC said this new batch brought the total number of generation companies (gencos) with COCs to 28.
ERC chairman Manuel R. Sanchez said the new batch of gencos supplies portion of the National Power Corp.s power requirement in Mindanao grid through the PNOC-Energy Development Corp. (PNOC-EDC).
These companies also provide the power requirement of the manufacturing facilities and/or provide backup power in case of power failure by distribution utilities in their respective areas.
The gencos that were given COCs are: Mindanao I geothermal partnership, an IPP of the PNOC-EDC with 47 megawatts (MW) geothermal power plant located at Mindanao geothermal reservation in Mt. Apo; Mindanao II Geothermal partnership with 48.25 MW geothermal power plant also in Mt. Apo; and AMI Semiconductor Philippines Inc. (AMIS) with 3.285 MW diesel power plant located at the Parañaque City.
The other gencos are: EEI Power Corp. with one MW diesel power plant in Carmona Cavite; Analog Devices (Phils.) Inc. with a capacity of 2.604 MW in Parañaque; Analog Devices Gen. Trias, Inc. with 14 MW diesel power plant in Gen. Trias, Cavite; and Panasonic Mobile Communications Corp. of the Philippines (PMCP) with four MW diesel power plant located at Laguna Technopark, Sta.
