BOI grants perks to PLDT unit

-
The Board of Investments has approved the P125-million investment of iPlus Intelligent Network, a subsidiary of telecommunications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. and granted it pioneering status.

iPlus, which is 99.9 percent owned by ePLDT, is a new IT service firm in the field of application service provider (ASP). It will provide a next generation IP contract center platform for mission critical contact center applications. The solution supports multi-channel customer interactions via telephone and fax, email and Internet, live and message-based, fixed and wireless modes of communication.

iPlus solution is a patented technology designed to meet the demand of contact centers and other large-scale contact centers. The iPlus ASP business model enables contact centers to run their business from a completely hosted service. Thus, contract centers can avail of the services on a month-to-month subscription basis, rather than invest in an expensive infrastructure of their own.

The company will begin commercial operations this month at the Internet Data Center Building in Bagong Ilog, Pasig City.

Being a ‘pioneer’ status firm, iPlus will enjoy tax holidays of up to six years and other incentives. – Rocel Felix
