-
A newly-formed company of overseas Filipinos worldwide (OFWs) is set to ink marketing deals with the country’s real estate giants.

OFW Land Inc. will sign the agreements with Robinsons Homes Inc., Southeast Realty & Development Corp., Metro Asia Resources Corp., and Extraordinary Development Corp.

The memorandums of agreement will be signed by OFW Land and its partners during the company’s official launch on Friday at the 4th and 6th floors of Benjamin I Bldg. at 62 Sgt. Esguerra Ave. cor. Madre Ignacia St., Quezon City.

This was bared by executive vice president and chief operating officer Norman Ray Gacula of OFW International Holdings Inc., which owns 99 percent of OFW Land Inc.

OFW Holdings is the business arm of non-government organization Overseas Filipino WorldNet (OFWNet), which Gacula said was formed by leaders of foreign-based OFW organizations in various countries around the world.

Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 11, 2001 the OFWNet was created to pursue the economic and political empowerment of overseas Filipinos worldwide.

OFWNet and OFW Holdings will also launch the newly-created OFW Travel & Tours Corp. on Aug. 8.

Both already operational, the OFW Travel & Tours and OFW Land Inc. are envisioned to provide the travel services and housing needs of some 40 million family members of around eight million overseas Filipinos, who account for about $6 billion in average annual contribution to the country’s gross international reserves.

Gacula said these companies and several other OFWNet-assisted and OFW-owned entrepreneurial ventures were part of the organization’s master plan for the eventual reintegration of overseas Filipinos into the local economy and to the mainstream of Philippine society.

The whole-day launch activities starting at 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. is expected to clinch immediate sales and attract a big network of realty agents.

The launch includes product presentation to investors, afternoon sales and orientation seminar, and MOA signing with marketing partners and the Pag-IBIG Fund.

"Among the invitees are OFWs and their relatives, organization members, realty agents, prospective buyers, immigrants, company presidents, brokers, sales people, current prospects, and friends," said Gacula, also the incubation committee chairman of OFWNet.

Committed to the pursuit of social entrepreneurship for OFWs, the OFWNet and OFW Holdings (tel. 6700-OFWS (6397), fax 6700-0444, e-mail [email protected], and website www.ofwmall.com), also hold office at the Benjamin I Bldg.

OFW Holdings also provides technical, financial, marketing, training and management assistance to aspiring OFW entrepreneurs and their business ventures.
