AFFI officials said the event will highlight how new breed of entrepreneurs have overcome various obstacles to emerge with success stories of their own businesses.
AFFI was formed in 1997 by a pioneering group of enterprising individuals behind such companies as Figaro, Fiorgelato, Goto King, Metropole, Potato Corner and GMB Franchise Developers, who recognized the potential for business expansion through franchising.
Since its formation, AFFI has guided many small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) into successful franchising operations, attracting customers through healthy competition, innovation and inventiveness.
Among AFFIs activities include seminars and conferences, franchising clinics, community outreach projects, and trade shows and exhibits.
Despite competition from their bigger international counterparts, the local franchises have gained an edge in attracting investors mainly due to three factors: 1) lower capitalization or overall cost to operate the franchise; 2) better adaptability to the local setting and culture, hence a higher success ratio and longer business span; and 3) flexibility or manageability of their business.
During the 2nd Filipino Franchise Show, entrepreneurs, franchisers and suppliers will be able to create market presence, as well as network and share best practices and trades for their mutual advancement.
