Cebu Pacific flies to Dumaguete

To service market demand for an early morning flight, Cebu Pacific will add another frequency to its Manila-Dumaguete service, increasing its flight to twice daily.

Starting May 23, 2003, departures from Manila are scheduled at 5:30 in the morning and 12:40 in the afternoon. From Dumaguete, flights leave at 7:20 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Salvador Ramirez, Cebu Pacific VP/GM for sales, said the reason for this additional flight is the airline’s intention to promote Dumaguete as a primary tourist destination.

"This move aims to boost Dumaguete’s tourism," said Ramirez. "Dumaguete is a beautiful, idyllic spot for rest and relaxation and a jump off point to eco-tourist attractions such as whale watching in Bais and water sports in Apo Island."

The additional frequency also targets the business travelers who have to arrive at their destination at the earliest time possible. "Business travelers who want to make the most of their trips opt to fly from Manila to Dumaguete or vice versa early in the day," Ramirez added. "Correspondingly, these business travelers can catch our afternoon flight back to their home base."

Cebu Pacific’s special one way fare to Dumaguete is pegged at P1,799.
