Business opportunities abound at trade show

Business opportunities are emerging for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.

Such opportunities are generated by the collaboration among the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), Technology and Livelihood Resource Center (TLRC), and the OFWNet Foundation and OFW International Holdings, which have jointly staged a roadshow presentation in the Middle East for that purpose.

The roadshow unveiled a surprise package of business and livelihood opportunities for OFWs worldwide and their families in the Philippines.

The event forms part of a program on how to eventually and successfully reintegrate the OFWs into the mainstream of Philippine society through entrepreneurship.

A roadmap of the reintegration program was presented by managing director Chee Garcia of OFWNet, and chief operating officer Norman Gacula of OFW Int’l Holdings.

The roadshow was held in Jeddah, Riyadh and Alkhobar in Saudi Arabia, Dubai in United Arab Emirate, and Bahrain and Kuwait.

A wider array of business and entrepreneurial opportunities will be presented by both groups at the OFW Conference & Trade Exhibit, which will be held on May 23-25 at the SM Megatrade, Mandaluyong City

Other points of discussion will tackle business and economics, entrepreneurship program for OFWs, and business models for starting small and medium enterprises.
