Asian Spirit adds Clark, Caticlan to routes

-
After receiving its congressional franchise last month making it the country’s fourth flag carrier, leading domestic air carrier Asian Spirit Airlines has immediately embarked on another expansion as it added the Clark-Caticlan route to its growing list of destinations.

Antonio Turalba Jr., and Jack Po, chairman and executive vice president of the airline, respectively, led the first batch of passengers during the inaugural flight last week to the new Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark, Pampanga.

"We will be operating three times weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From Manila, the plane departs at 11:30 a.m. for a 30 minute flight to Clark. The plane then goes back to Manila at 1 p.m. en route to Caticlan. One way flight from Manila to Clark or vice versa is pegged at P600. However, Clark-Caticlan fare is at P2,450 per way, the same rate as Manila-Caticlan." Po explained.

Asian Spirit is a locator at the Clark Special Economic Zone and positioned the former US Air Force base as its hub of operations in the northern Luzon area. The airline operates new generation turbo-prop aircraft ranging from Let410, cn235, YS11 and Dash 7’s.

"Opening this route is part of our commitment to serve the central and northern Luzon areas," Po said. "Late last year, we also started out thrice weekly Manila-Batanes flights in addition to the resumption of our Manila-Baguio flights in October," he added. "Now residents of Central Luzon will have air transport access to the other tourist destinations that Asian Spirit services" Po added.
