CII and CCAC will be the official representative and distributor of Toshiba’s household appliances, especially refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines.
The tie-up is an offshoot of Toshiba’s global joint venture with Carrier Corp.
Carrier Corp. is controlled by United Technologies Corp., a US-based manufacturer of equipment for commercial, industrial and residential buildings.
The joint venture is structured in two independent, jointly controlled companies——Toshiba Carrier Corp. (TCC) and Toshiba Carrier UK Ltd.—— which will merge the parents’ manufacturing and distribution operations in Japan and the UK, respectively.
CCAC is a joint venture between CII and Carrier Corp. to manufacture the Concepcion-Carrier line of air conditioners. CII manufactures the refrigerator brands Kelvinator and Condura. —— Marianne Go
