Mayor Jay Vergara told The STAR that SM City Cabanatuan will be constructed on a sprawling 30-hectare property in Barangay Sta. Arcadia. He said that the supermall, its first in Nueva Ecija, will bring SM's shopping, leisure and entertainment excitement to the eastern portion of Central Luzon.
The site is adjacent to the Cabanatuan City Central Transport Terminal (CCCTT) which the city government has privatized. It is accessible from all points, from Villaluz Subdivision, Circumferential Road and the Sta. Arcadia-Tagpos Road.
Vergara said negotiations with SM were firmed up following the acquisition by SM Prime of the 30-hectare property and after his meeting with three top SM officials at city hall namely Henry Sy Jr., executive vice president for land acquisition and development of properties; Jojo Mendiola, senior vice president for operations and finance officer Jeffrey Lim.
