Chikka Asia, Inc., creators of the mobile instant messaging service Chikka Txt Messenger, recently receive ISO 9001:2000 certification for its quality management systems from SGS United Kingdom Ltds Yarsely International Certification Services SGS (Societe Generate de Surveilance) Philippines further conformed that the SMS applications developer is the first "mobile data service provider" in the country to achieve certification in ISOs latest series.
"Chikkas ISO certification definitely raises the bar for the local industry. More importantly, by aligning it management and software development processes with international standards. Chikka is helping solidly. The Philippines leading position as SMS applications developers for the world" said Chikka Asia chief executive officer Dennis Mendiola.
Currently dubbed the SMS capital of the world for producing up to 15 percent of world SMS (short message service) volume. The Philippines is also fast achieving prominence as a regional center for excellent wireless applications development.
Chikka itself launched a mobile instant messenger that was the first of its kind. Chikka Txt Messenger indeed brought to mobile users all the traditional functionalities of an "instant messenger" including checking for on-line PC buddies. Many outside the Philippines meanwhile use the service to be able to "text" with friends and relatives who are Globe or Smart subscribers.
