Symposium on organizational management set

-
The University of Western Australia (UWA) in association with The Esteban School of Makati, successfully launched its inaugural Master of Business Administration (MBA) batch last Sept. 26. Associate director Rey Fells flew in from Australia to welcome the first batch of students while Prof. Chris Perryer, also from UWA, facilitated the Management of Organizations course.

Students comprise a mix of industries, ranging from accountants, hotel managers, bankers, entrepreneurs, airline managers, service industry officers, oil and refinery personnel among others.

According to Erwin Acosta, academic coordinator of the UWA-Manila program: "We realize that a diverse and well rounded student population is crucial in developing the strategic focus of our students. The UWA MBA program will hone students to become empowered decision makers and value creators for their respective corporations. While the program is academically rigorous and cutting edge, the learning must be based on experience."

UWA was founded in 1913 and is recognized as a leading research university worldwide. Its Graduate School of Management is ranked among the top three business schools in Australia.

UWA’s classroom-based method of learning, provides a stimulating environment for students. Nine out of 12 professors are flown in directly from the university to personally facilitate classes, ensuring that students receive the same quality of education here in Manila as they would had they taken their MBA in Australia. The program is designed for working professionals and can be completed in 18 months. Applications for the second stream beginning January is now being accepted.

This Nov. 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Prof. Chris Perryer will conduct an informative talk about "Knowledge Management or Management Knowledge – which path leads to organizational effectiveness." The venue will be at the 6th floor Oakwood Premier, Glorietta 4, Ayala Center, Makati City. Light lunch will be served and free entrance will be awarded to the first 20 registered participants.
