APC presents case studies involving government agencies

Inspired by its vision to develop leaders in the global information technology industry and dedicated to its mission to improve the overall quality of life of everyone through information technology, the Asia Pacific College (APC), an educational partnership of SM Foundation and IBM Philippines, Inc., is fast gaining the respect of both the government and the business sector.
As part of its curricular project-based learning method , the Asia Pacific College, barely a decade in operation, has been making its presence felt in the business community and in government service through its innovative systems analysis and design case studies. APC students work closely with the facility to develop software concepts, conduct background research on the projects, evaluate possible ICT options, negotiate with possible application industry or government service partners and develop possible rapid prototypes.
At the recent APC IT Week celebration, eleven significant case studies in systems analysis and design, involving various government agencies and business enterprises, were showcased and demonstrated. These include: Automated Fingerprints Identification System (NBI); Philippine Fisheries Information Dissemination (BFAR-FRMP); Emergency Watch/Patrol 117 & NDCC (DILG & DND); Local Government Procurement & Asset and Property Management System (QC and Manila LGUs); Philippine Customs Intelligence Database System (BOC); Automated Customs Operations System/ Portal (BOC); Administrative Information System (Supreme Court); Judicial Cases Monitoring System (Supreme Court); Multi-Level Marketing & Sales Monitoring (First Union Direct) and ; Warehousing and Distribution Management System (Gentex Titan, Inc.)
Previous significant case studies that were also showcased include: Automated Election Counting System (Comelec) and the OFW Information and Communication System (POEA/OWWA).
