The country now has its fair share of companies that have received the ISO certification. But for the first time in the countrys aggregates industry, a company was given due recognition recently.
Concrete Aggregates Corp. (CAC) was awarded the ISO 9001-2002 certification by the ISO. CACs products are different sizes of rocks that construction companies use. This is the company that produced the materials used for giant infrastructure projects like the MRT and the NAIA.
Upon receiving the certification, CAC president Francisco M. Ortigas III said that this development bodes well for the future of the company, especially because it conforms what their market knew all along that they are the best-performing aggregates company in the country, in the four decades of its existence.
CAC applied for an ISO certification about a year ago. The award was handed to them after a thorough auditing done by SGS Philippines, Inc.
But the process does not stop after the awarding. Every six months, the company will be audited or checked if they still maintain the standards they have set for themselves. If they are able to pass the first auditing after the awarding, they will be entitled to automatic renewal of the certification.
For four decades in the aggregate industry, the company leads the aggregates industry and with the ISO 9001-2002 certification, its position is solid as a rock.
