The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As)-Philippines marks its 25th anniversary by holding an advertising summit at the Westin Philippine Plaza Hotel from Aug. 29 to 31.
With its theme "First Quarter Storm", 4As people will pay tribute to the idealism and the fervor with which the youth pursued their belief in justice during the 70s, evoking the same idealism which makes 4As what it is today. At the same time, it sets the tone for the next 25 years.
The advertising summit is the associations response to the burning issues faced by ad agencies and advertisers today in the areas of creativity and understanding consumer changes.
The 4As is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of various advertising agencies whose common objective is the promotion and the development of the advertising agency business in conjunction with the advertising industrys goals.
Apart from honoring the founding fathers of the 4As, PR committee chairman Billy Rockwell said they would also pay tribute to the Best Advertisers of the Land.
"We shall honor the mavericks of our time the people who changed our lives for the better," said Rockwell. He was referring to the rule breakers, the pioneers, the industry luminaries, the marketing geniuses and media celebrities who managed to reinvent themselves many times over and refresh their art and their craft for the appreciation of many generations.
The organization of various advertising agencies would also recognize the Agency of the Year and Greatest Creative Works (PILAK 25 Pilipino Advertising Klasiks) the country has produced over the past century.
During the three-day summit, a series of talks which revolves around the "art and science of advertising" is being held to widen the perspective of young practitioners and advertising students. Cecille Suerte Felipe
