AyalaPort Makati sets up data center in Laguna

Industrial centers located south of Metro Manila will soon have a direct gateway to world class services and the global Internet as AyalaPort Makati, the country’s first purpose-built world class data center, launches its point-of-presence (POP) in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on June 27.

The emergence of numerous industrial parks in the area has spurred the need for a reliable infrastructure to address the growing information and communication technology needs of these companies.

"We saw this great opportunity to offer shared applications services and other data center services like connectivity and hosting to these industrial parks. AyalaPort Makati has decided to invest on this and we are very happy to extend our world-class data center infrastructure to these areas," says Brigs Merin, general manager of AyalaPort Makati.

Merin said part of the commitment of AyalaPort Makati is to bring uninterrupted 24x7 business operations and redundant facilities to these companies to enable them to remain globally competitive.

AyalaPort Makati’s Data Center/POP in Laguna was established primarily to extend its facilities to companies outside Metro Manila and also to serve as a back-up facility to its’ Makati-based Data Center. It will serve as the South’s access point to world-class services including collocation, connectivity, hosting, back-up, disaster recovery, security services, professional services and even full IT outsourcing services. This will also give them access to shared applications like Human Resource Information System (HIRS), Payroll, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP i.e. SAP), Offsite Data Storage, On-line data archiving, anti-virus, email outsourcing, digital certificates and other security applications.

The Laguna POP will also provide a secure and fully redundant stable connection via a direct fiber link from AyalaPort Makati Data Center in Makati to Laguna. This will ensure that clients will be provided with faster access and improved uptime.
