Inter.Net, a leading international consumer Internet access and content provider, is expanding its local operations with the recent signing of an agreement with DigitelOne, the Internet arm of telecommunications service giant, Digital Telecommunications Inc. (Digitel).
Under the agreement, Inter.Net will subscribe to DigitelOnes Data Services that will extend Inter.Nets reach to an increased number of locations around the country, thereby giving more Filipinos an opportunity to gain access to Inter.Nets services.
The accord will also enhance the quality of Inter.Nets Internet services through Digitels bandwidth offering, resulting in faster connection and download speeds. The agreement was formalized during a recent contract signing between Inter.Net country manager Therone Yupangco and DigitelOne managing Director Bryan Go.
The agreement enables Inter.Net to focus more on its businesses of delivering dial-up, broadband Internet access to SOHOs, SMEs and consumers. It also gives them the opportunity to achieve a greater level of customer satisfaction by directing more efforts into developing and providing products and services that are tailor-fit to the needs of its Filipino customer base.
"Our customers place a high-value on the quality of the Internet service we offer and choose us for our reliability and ability to immediately deliver on the promise of the Internet. Our agreement with Digital One will allow us to continue to deliver on this promise and enable us to offer the same high-quality of service at a more affordable cost to our subscribers," Yupangco said, adding "We believe that if we provide our customers the integrated offering of access, communications tools and content, we will be able to better meet their needs and preferences."
Both companies recognize the importance of providing high quality Internet services to Filipinos as a means of connecting the country to the rest of the world and facilitating a healthy exchange of digital information, officials said.
DigitelOne vice president Patrick Paul Palacios said that this agreement will provide more Filipinos affordable high speed access to the Internet and pave the way towards a heightened IT awareness and increased PC and Internet proficiencies among a greater number of Filipinos.
Inter.Net will also soon employ DigitelOnes failsafe nationwide fiber optic and digital microwave data facilities, making it possible for Inter.Nets remote branches in the country to have a fully redundant connection to its Makati head office, as well as link Inter.Net customers to the main hub in Makati or Cebu.
