Government agencies warned versus ‘unauthorized’ Jancom reps

Jay Alparslan, chairman and president of Jancom International Development Projects Pty. Limited and Jancom Environmental Corp., Philippines warned yesterday the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the Supreme Court and other Philippine government agencies against entertaining certain individuals who claim to represent the group but who are not authorized to do so.

Jancom won recently a Supreme Court ruling upholding its $360-million build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract to process the 6,000 metric tons of Metro Manila’s wastes through an integrated waste management and energy generation scheme.

In a recent communication to Executive Secretary Alberto Romulo, MMDA chairman Benjamin Abalos and Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Heherson Alvarez, Alparslan said these interest groups are in no way associated with the Jancom group.

He said Jancom will not recognize or be bound by or accept any responsibility in relation to unauthorized representations made supposedly in behalf of said BOT contract.
