Caltex Phils has new chairman

Caltex (Philippines), Inc. has a new country chairman in Timothy D. Leveille, succeeding Nicholas C. Florio. Leveille, will also serve as the company’s chief financial officer. Leveille joined the Caltex family in 1987 and has held various management positions in the company. These include assignments in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Africa, and Korea.

Prior to his Philippine assignment, Leveille served as Caltex resident director at LG-Caltex Oil in Seoul, Korea, LG-Caltex is a joint venture between Caltex Corp. and LG, Korea’s second largest chaebol, with a market share of roughly 26 percent.

He was responsible for maintaining shareholder alignment with respect to strategic direction, annual business programs and budgets, and other financial matters. He was also tasked to oversee corporate governance and review new business opportunities in the LNG gas and power sector.

Earlier, he served as finance director of Star Petroleum Refining Co., Ltd. (SPRC) in Thailand, a $2-billion start-up joint venture petroleum refining company between Caltex Corp. and the Petroleum Authority of Thailand. At SPRC, he was responsible for all financial activities, enterprise information systems, strategic and business planning, and Y2K compliance.

Leveille is a graduate of Boston College, Massachusetts and has an MBA degree from Columbia University, New York. He is also a certified public accountant, state of New York. He is married with three children.
