Fernando Campana, GSIS vice president for insurance group, made the challenge after Napocor issued a public statement claiming that it has some unpaid insurance claims with GSIS and that GSIS has been allegedly padding its premiums.
"Go to court," Campana told Napocor president Jesus Alcordo.
"Napocor should seek legal remedies on its complaints rather than pursuing cases before the bar of public opinion," Campana said. "Let us not fight this before the press because it embarrasses the President," he said, citing the well-publicized insurance claims, of Napocor.
However, the GSIS official expressed doubts on whether Alcordo can substantiate his charges that the GSIS has been remiss in paying the power firm’s insurance claims.
Campana pointed out that not a single collection suit has been filed by Napocor against the GSIS. "This only means that there is no basis to sue," Campana said.
The GSIS official also urged Alcordo to respond to an earlier call of GSIS for Napocor to substantiate charges of alleged premium padding over the past five years.
Campaign said GSIS president and general manager Winston Garcia will not tolerate overpricing and is more than interested to investigate, but he needs proof from Napocor because the alleged premium padding occurred before he took over the pension fund.
